Repair intake
Send a module in
Fill this out before you ship. It tells us what to expect on the bench and lets us quote testing accurately. You'll get a lookup code and the shipping address by email.
Repair request
Takes about three minutes
The form asks for your contact details, the vehicle, the module, and what it is doing. Attach photos of the part-number label while you are there — it saves a round of emails and lets us confirm the part before you ship.
You will get a reply with the mailing address and a lookup code for tracking the job. Nothing ships until you have that.
Open the repair request form- Drain hydraulic units
- Anything that has held brake or hydraulic fluid — solenoid manifolds, ABS and VSA assemblies — must be drained and cleaned as thoroughly as you can get it, then sealed in a heavy-duty plastic bag before boxing. Residual fluid leaks in transit and carriers can refuse the shipment.
- Photograph the label
- Clear shot of the part numbers before it goes in the box.
- Send the whole unit
- Connectors and housing included. Do not remove pins or cut the harness plug.
- Anti-static
- Anti-static bag if you have one, bubble wrap over that — not against the board.
- No loose foam
- Packing peanuts get into connectors. Bubble wrap or paper only.
- Include the code
- Write your lookup code on the outside of the box and on a slip inside.
- Insure it
- Declare what the module is worth. Carriers lose things.
Do not ship until you have had a reply. We will confirm the module is something we work on and send you the address.
Pricing
What it costs
Ranges, not flat rates — a cracked solder joint and a failed driver IC are not the same job. You get a firm number for your module before any work starts.
Bench diagnostics & testing
| Bench test POWER-UP / COMM / DTC |
$50 – $150 | Bench-powered through a breakout harness, diagnostic communication established, DTCs and shadow memory pulled, supply rail integrity checked, transceiver and processor health verified. |
This fee is applied toward the repair or programming cost if you approve the work. If you decline, or the module is not economically repairable, it stands as a test and inspection fee and return shipping is billed separately.
Software & flashing
| VIN writing, flashing, mileage sync | $100 – $250 | Plug-and-play setup for your vehicle. |
| Module cloning FLASH + EEPROM / MCU |
$150 – $300 | Full read and write from your original unit to a donor. |
| Airbag / SRS crash data reset HARD CODE CLEAR VIA EEPROM |
$50 – $120 | Module must be installed by a qualified technician and the system verified before the vehicle returns to service. |
Domestic and common Asian platforms sit at the low to mid end. European and high-security architectures — FCA secure gateway, BMW CAS/FEM/BDC, Mercedes FBS, VAG MQB with component protection — sit at the high end or carry a token surcharge.
Board-level repair
| Minor component repair | $150 – $300 | Solder reflow, trace repair, capacitor replacement, driver IC and MOSFET replacement, voltage regulator replacement. |
| Complex rebuild & specialty | $250 – $600+ | ABS hydraulic control units, diesel FICMs, Allison TCMs, hybrid inverter gate drivers, and sealed or gel-filled modules needing micro-bonding work. |
Additional
| Return shipping | $15 – $40 | Priority or ground with insurance. Billed whether or not the repair goes ahead. |
| Expedited same-day turnaround | +$50 – $100 | Subject to parts and bench availability. Ask before shipping. |
| Corrosion or water damage | +$50 – $100 | Additional cleaning and inspection. If multilayer traces are compromised the unit is called non-repairable and only the bench fee applies. |
Payment
| Bench fee | Up front | Invoiced when the module arrives, before it goes on the bench. This is the fee that applies whether or not the unit turns out to be repairable. |
| Repair balance | Before return | Invoiced once the work is finished and verified. The module ships back after the invoice clears. |
| Method | Card | Invoices are emailed with a secure payment link. No card details are handled over the phone or through this site. |
Quotes are good for 30 days. If a job is not approved within that window the module is returned at the customer's cost.
Not everything is listed here. If you have a module or a job that is not on this page, ask — the list covers what comes across the bench most often, not the limit of what can be done.
Modules serviced here are to be installed by a qualified technician. Control units interact with braking, restraint, charging, and other safety systems, and an incorrect installation can damage the module, the vehicle, or both. Nothing on this page is an instruction to install it yourself.
